IDC AWARDED 300 UNIT CONTRACT IN CHINA FOR ITS DR TECHNOLOGY
Marks Single Largest OEM Contract Awarded to IDC in Company History
Calgary, Alberta – January 28, 2009 – IDC (Imaging Dynamics Company Ltd.) (TSX: IDL), the global leader in the rapidly growing market for digital radiography (DR), is pleased to announce it has been awarded a contract to supply 300 units of its proprietary CCD-based DR imaging technology to the China Charity Federation over the next twelve to eighteen months. This is the single largest OEM contract IDC has been awarded to date. The China Charity Federation (CCF) is a United Way International recognized body and one of the most influential charitable organizations in China.
In the last several years, the CCF has been actively involved in humanitarian activities that have gained nationwide attention and resulted in great social impact. Its main focuses are providing disaster relief, poverty relief, care of seniors and orphans, education, medical assistance and helping the disabled. This contract is a result on an endeavor of the Sunshine Medical Aid Project, organized by the China Charity Federation.
“This contract marks the first time the China Charity Federation has ever proceeded with such a large medical digital imaging equipment project in China.” States Mr. Li Bao Zhong, Vice Chairman and Director of the China Charity Federation. “The China Charity Federation, in conjunction with the China government, will install such a large number of digital radiography systems into healthcare facilities all over the country to provide better access to those in need. This project will also boost our economy with the realization of jobs created by the construction and development of additional medical facilities.”
“The CCF has stringent guidelines and IDC was awarded the contract after a very comprehensive competitive evaluation.” states Mr. Sidong Huang, Vice President, IDC Asia. “It is a great honour to have been chosen to provide CCF healthcare facilities in China with the technology to capture high resolution diagnostic images and improve the level of patient care for those who normally wouldn’t have access to adequate healthcare facilities.”
“IDC is extremely proud to have been chosen by the China Charity Federation as its sole digital radiography provider for its healthcare facilities,” states Mr. Tom Boon, President & CEO, IDC. “This contract is a phenomenal testament to IDC’s DR technology and continued innovation. The installation of these 300 systems will further strengthen our position as a leading DR provider in the China market.”
